For Mr. Roe, highway construction money for the road builders and sprawl-development is more important than rail transit, green space and flood control in Johnson City's Downtown.

We don't need another establishment, retrograde politician for the First District. Those types have given us an illegal war, jeopardized our liberty, and stolen our financial future. Our Congress has allowed our nations's infrastructure to disintegrate while they use our money to destroy Iraq, and then use our money to repair what they just destroyed. These are dangerous times for us Americans. We need courageous, outspoken representatives who can think for themselves so they can think of all of us; speak for themselves so they can speak for all of us; and stand on their own, so they can stand up for all of us.

Those who have proven they can play the old games in the old ways are not those we need now.
Big friendly smiles and smooth talk is cheap for Democratic and Republican legislators. Look at the Democrats; they took control of the Congress with a pledge to end the war in Iraq. Now they've forgotten how to say no. The Constitution was set up to give the people the opportunity to vote down war spending every two years.
